It's Time For A Change!

This year I have some changes that I need to make. Sometimes we put ourselves down and feel like we have no confidence. This is normal! It is just what us girls go through when we are growing up. But there are times that it can get the better of us. When we compare ourselves to other girls or spend more time worrying about how we look, rather than having fun, that is when there is a problem. I for sure need to make some changes this year and be the best version of myself. There is only one of you in the world and that is why you are so unbelievably special, beautiful and valuable.

There are certain things that I feel every girl should do every single day, just to remind yourself how amazing you are.

Look in the mirror and be like "Hello! Who is that hottie?!"

Text your loved ones and let them know how much they mean to you, even if it is just a simple, "I love you."

Fill your day with things you enjoy. Yes we do need to get some boring stuff done and get work out of the way, but why does that mean we can't have fun in the process?

Reward and treat yourself, Even if that is just a long hot bath in the evening, that valuable "me time" is sometimes all we need for a clear head.

Don't let ANYONE, EVER put you down. Anyone who does that to another person is just proving why you are so much more amazing.

Love yourself, Flaws and all. Those little quirks that might embarrass you, are the things that other people love.

Know that you are capable of being anything that you want to be.

Be determined and ambitious. Hard work and perseverance really do pay off. If you want something, you can get it, you will just have to put in the time and effort.

Don't be jealous of anyone. There are times that I look at Beyonce and think, "I wish I had a body like that!" but then I think, "Well then I wouldn't be 6ft tall and that is kinda fun!". That person that you might envy, could envy you just as much.

Like Audrey Hepburn said, "Happy girls are the prettiest girls" and that is so true. It doesn't matter what colour hair you have, what ethnicity you are, whether you have a big or a small nose, what colour your eyes are, how tall or small you are, how slim or curvy you are. These are the just the sprinkles on the cake and the yummiest bit of the cake is the chocolatey personality filling!!!!

The British Tag

When I was little, my Dad always used to call me his little English rose, so I think that this tag is perfect for me! I love Britain. I love the fact that we get to see the four seasons and I love the fact that no matter where you go, you are guaranteed to hear a different accent. I often go on holiday to Pembrokeshire in Wales in the Summer and there have been times when I have been lying on the beach and I thought I was somewhere abroad. I go to Scotland every Winter and it turns into a beautiful Winter wonderland. Then England in Autumn is just a rainbow of coppers, gold and reds. I can honestly say that I don't think I will be leaving home anytime soon!

After my little attempt of a poetic ramble there, I shall explain. This is the British Tag. I was sort of tagged I guess, by the wonderful blogger A Piece Of Elish. So I tag all of you fellow blogger readers!

How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?

Oooohhh do I really have to count? I would say around 10... I know that is a lot. But I don't take sugar!

Favourite part of the roast?
My favorite part of the roast is the whole thing! Every Sunday I never forget to make a roast dinner. I would have to say though Yorkshire Puddings soaked in Gravy would be my favorite bit. Or stuffing! I love stuffing!

Favourite dunking biscuit?
Shortbread. It has to be shortbread.

Favourite quintessentially British past-time?
Possibly my elocution lessons. They were difficult, but they were fun!

Favourite British word?

"Canny". Being brought up a Geordie, that was a very common phrase in our house.

Cockney rhyming slang?

I know that my boyfriend has told me some of these... but I can't remember any. I do live up North...

Favourite British sweet?

Parma Violets! Without a doubt. When I worked in a bar, there was a man who would come in for 1 pint of ale every Sunday to give me a packet of Parma Violets! He was blooming lovely!

What would your pub be called?
The Unicorn! With the exclamation mark!

No. 1 British person?
Winston Churchill. May be a slightly obvious one. But when I was growing up, my parents house was literally like a shrine to that man! OOO or Audrey Hepburn as she was a British Citizen... She is my idol.

Favourite shop/ restaurant?

The Metro Centre! Can that count? It contains many shops and restaurants! =]

What's the first British song that pops into your head?
"When I'm Cleaning Windows"

Marmite- love or hate?
I am not sure... hold on... my boyfriend has some in the cupboard, I have always been too scared to try it, but now seems as good a time as any...

OMG NO! WHAT IS THIS STUFF!? Also sticking my finger in the jar was not a good idea. It is much stickier than I imagined.

Well what a lovely tag. It went from good to bad very quickly. Now please excuse me whilst I go and brush my teeth.

How to Get The Designer Look at a High Street Price

How to look like you are rocking those expensive designer labels at a price that won't make your purse cry!

I love everything fashion and with that comes the gooey eyed designer label cravings. But when you don't have all of the money in the world, can you really justify spending £500 on a pair of shoes? £5000 on a dress? I sure as hell can't! I do enjoy having the odd timeless classic, a designer blazer or pencil skirt, that I know won't go out of fashion anytime soon and that I can put on those days where I am feeling a little frumpy. They always do the trick. But for the rest of the time, I still want to look the part, but not have to break the bank. This is where I am here to help!

I find it useful to look through designer websites. High end clothing lines tend to keep their sales separate from their usual lines, so you know that what you are looking at is this season and the season coming up. I find this especially useful at this time of year, when all of the glitz and glam has gone from Christmas, the sales have begun and it can be difficult to tell what is going to be in fashion this season. So simply by looking through a few high fashion sites, you can get a good idea about what we should be purchasing from high street shops to be bang on trend!

High street shops get all of their inspiration from the catwalk. So once you know what you are looking for, you can spot designer dupes all over the place. From Topshop and New Look, to Primark and H&M, you can find clothes that will make you ooze sophistication and style.

Givenchy Laura Chain Trimmed Leather Ankle Boots £1,060

Stunning classic leather boot with chain detailing. These boots will go with almost any outfit just like an ordinary chelsea boot, but the chain detail sets them apart from the crowd.

But so do...

Salvation Ankle Boots by KG Kurt Geiger for Topshop £160!

Gianvito Rossi Patent- Leather Pumps £445

Gorgeous, sophisticated, sexy and versatile, everything you could want in the perfect shoe.

But so are...

Chelsea Square Hayden Kate Spade Handbag £370

As a brand, I am completely head over heels in love with Kate Spade. I have some dresses and the Metro watch and all feel oh so luxurious! This handbag is stunning, it will complement any outfit and will last a long time.

But it looks very similar to...

Black Textured Winged Tote Bag £45 Topshop

DKNY Floral Lace Top £185

Just like...

Shell Pink Floral Burnout Kimono Sleeve Top New Look £4.80

Oscar De La Renta Lurex Maxi Skirt £1,399

This really is a breathtaking skirt! The price tag also is too, but in more of an asthmatic way... This skirt would really make a statement.

A little bit like...

Warehouse Metallic Maxi Skirt £21

MaxMara Gianna Jumpsuit £575

Sometimes it is just nice to keep things simple and this jumpsuit does just that. Team up with some statement pieces of jewellery (if you can afford any after buying this) then you are ready to hit the town. Just remember not to drink much, these are very difficult to remove in the powder room.

Hey sister!

ASOS Jumpsuit with Cami Straps £40

So there you have it! When you know where and how to look, you can make the pavement your catwalk for a few quid!

50 Things about Me - Get to Know Bee

I have noticed that I have written a fair few blog posts now, but I guess that none of you really know who I am. So here are 50 facts about me!

  1. My real name is Rachael Bee, so many people seem to have difficulty believing that my last name is actually Bee, so to save them confusion (and myself after a few drinks), I got a bumble bee tattooed on my wrist. Works a charm!
  2. I am 21 years old and my birthday is on the 7th of February, so look out for posts about my party!
  3. My favorite food is steak pie... and custard, but not together!
  4. I used to be a catwalk hair model for Aveda and was the Grid Girl for Ginetta at the BTCC.
  5. I have a 4 year old Jack Russell Terrier called Billy, he is the most stupid, intelligent, lovable, annoying fluff ball on the planet!
  6. My favorite band is Slipknot and my favorite singer is Mariah Carey! (Odd mix I know).
  7. People appear to not know where I am from, if I go down South they think I am a Northerner and when I am up North (where I live) they think I am from down South... Confusing.
  8. My middle name is Natasha, it was going to be my first name, but my Grandma apparently said that it sounded like a sneeze.
  9. I LOVE singing, I may not be very good at it, but I do a damn good Jackson 5 cover... or not... Prosecco tends to make me think I am fantastic.
  10. My favorite film is Breakfast at Tiffany's - Audrey Hepburn is my idol.
  11. I have always wanted to be an interior designer.
  12. I am completely obsessed with weddings!
  13. I love drinking tea. It is quite honestly one of the best things in the world.
  14. My favorite colour is gold!
  15. Although I don't tend to watch anything on tv, the only thing I will switch it on for is Made In Chelsea. I freaking LOVE that programme, don't ask me why... it is a total mystery.
  16. I used to do ballet and boxing for a very long time. (Another odd mix, you will see a pattern here).
  17. I am the worst person to have at a party, my music choices consist of S Club 7, Vengaboys and other "terrible" AWESOME 90's classics to Slipknot and Metallica.
  18. I am the only person in my ENTIRE family with green eyes...
  19. I am the most unorganised, ridiculously organised person ever.
  20. I have lived in Newcastle, Mosside in Manchester, Morecambe and Lancaster and they all start with letters of the alphabet which are next to each other!
  21. I am 6ft tall and a size 6/8 which means I can barely ever find jeans that fit me, so dresses it is!
  22. Nothing annoys me more than people who make noises when they eat. AHHHHH!
  23. I don't believe in any religion or star signy stuff, basically if it isn't a scientific fact, it is a load of poppycock to me!
  24. If something is glittery, I want it.
  25. My favorite time of the year is winter, I want to move somewhere where it is snowy all year round! Antarctica here I come!
  26. I have OCD and it is not very pleasant. It does not consist of obsessive cleaning, there are many many different types of OCD.
  27. I am terrible at painting my nails, I tend to paint the entire end of my finger then pick the rest off when I am washing up!
  28. I am awful at doing accents. I cannot do any other accent than my own.
  29. I have very small feet for my height, which probably explains why I fall over so much (or it could be all of the cocktails).
  30. My favorite animals are donkeys and zebras. Donkeys because they are just such lovely creatures inside and out and then Zebras because they are basically Donkeys that support Newcastle United.
  31. I LOVE Laurel and Hardy.
  32. I want to say that I love reading, but I tend to get slightly bored and fidgety. Maybe I just haven't found the right book.
  33. I have a great disliking towards video games of any kind. I just feel like it is a complete waste of time.
  34. I studied art but I can't draw.
  35. My favorite colour lipstick is plum.
  36. I have 4 tattoos, 2 which I love and 2 which I am planning on getting lasered off!
  37. I dislike going to the cinema, sitting in silence for over 15 minutes is too difficult!
  38. I love the smell of whisky but hate the taste...
  39. If I could, I would wear high heels when I walk the dog. I love wearing heels, but hate the fact that in a pair of 6 inch heels I am 6ft6... It tends to scare people away as they question whether I am in fact female.
  40. I have always wanted to play the drums but I love my neighbours too much.
  41. When I get drunk, I blast Mariah Carey and attempt to sing like her in my pj's...
  42. I make strange noises so much that when I was little my best friends parrot started to do imitations of me, it drove her family crazy. I am still proud to this day.
  43. I once tried to be a vegetarian, but my dad made me a bacon sandwich and it was over within an hour. That was 10 years ago, I have never looked back.
  44. I really want to gain weight, but despite the fact that I consume 3000 and over calories a day I remain "THE DEVIL IN AN A CUP" (If you have ever seen Spaced you would get that...)
  45. I have scoliosis in my spine making me have one hip that sticks out and the other is as flat as a pancake! I say it is like character in an old piece of furniture!
  46. I was brought up Roman Catholic and the only good thing I feel that came out of it was a good imagination.
  47. My favorite flower is a daisy, they get trodden on all of the time but still come up smiling.
  48. I have very hairy arms for a girl, and I am freaking proud of it!
  49. I come from a family of proud farters.
  50. I am a tomboy who loves makeup!
That was surprisingly difficult to think of 50 things about me... hence why it got a little gross at the end! haha!
